Rushton canoe collection, [ca. 1860]-1978.

Miscellaneous records of the Rushton Boat Works include catalogs, insurance policies, title searches, and glass plate negatives and photographs of the boat works and the construction process of canoes, 1887-1915. Papers of Atwood Manley from his work on his book RUSHTON AND HIS TIME IN AMERICAN CANOEING (1968) consist of files containing miscellaneous letters and bills of the Rushton Boat Works, 1881-1915, correspondence with the Rushton family and other researchers and canoe enthusiasts, 1958-1978, and clippings; and of notebooks containing photographs, articles, clippings, advertisements, letters of Rushton Boat Works, and Manley's correspondence, ca.1860-1975. Other items include catalogs from other canoe manufacturers, clippings and programs from the Rushton Memorial Canoe Race, and drawings of boat plans, 1969-1977 and undated.
